We anchored here at 11.00 pm, on sand. Everything ok, but in the morning at 08.30 the captain's office told us to leave because anchoring is prohibited less than 20m deep "to protect posidonia". I suspect they want to do the same end of Positano: disproportionate prices in the port and inability to anchor elsewhere for free. I am very disappointed with this type of strategy adopted in this region, we will go elsewhere. P.Š. before entering here, we tried to go to the petrol pump in the port, but it was full of fishermen and I didn't want to move them all to moor.

Per other comments, this anchorage gets less ferry wake than others nearby but is still exposed to any southerly swell from the sea. We tied up the dingy to the seawall on the west side of town at no cost. The town is cute but still full of tourists in late October, but the hike up river out of town and looping back around through Pontone is beautiful. The city light up at night from the anchorage is lovely too.

Plenty of space in September to anchor but yes there is a lot of swell with passing traffic and it is exposed. We took our dinghy into the marina and paid 10€ to one of the pontoons but you can maybe leave it for free nearer the wall. We walked up to the paper mill and also to the restaurant on the peninsula. Loads of fireworks at night and we had the best view .
